A teardrop-shaped skylight
On the green wedge Gug Alper in the Aalborg district, Arkitektgruppen BIG has built the 750 square meter iconic Villa GUG. The villa is shaped like a snail shell with the family's desire to create a home with plenty of space for both the family and their passion for luxury cars.
Our task in the project was to develop a custom-designed drop-shaped skylight, which we constructed using a load-bearing steel structure to support the 3.5 meter diameter triple-layer glass drop weighing 850 kg.
