Daring walkable skylight and a beautiful seating plinth in recycled materials
For HimmerLand Resort's new multi-purpose hall, we designed and constructed 11 beautiful round skylights. The building rises up out of the ground and the roof goes all the way to the ground. Guests at the resort can move right up to the green, living roof with plants, grass and small pathways. Our construction for this project is designed so that the glass can be walked on.
With a focus on creating an integrated and functional solution, we designed and constructed a seating plinth around the glass that functions as a bench. The seating plinth is covered with Playtop in recyclable materials. To be precise, 1310 used Nike shoes were used for this project.
For this project, we delivered a complete design that provides a seamless transition between glass and Playtop - the seating plinth and glass blend together, there are no visible profiles or rubber joints.
In this project, we designed the complete solution and handled the soil pressure, roof membrane, seating plinth incl. Playtop and, of course, the glass. We have advised ARK and the customer from the start, and we have worked closely with Kastberg A/S, which has been responsible for the overall project.
